What’s Special About This Resort
Time to head to Nassau for this Bahamas all-inclusive resort. Sandals Royal Bahamian is in a quieter part of the main island. It is perfect for a quick island getaway with its easy flights and transfers from the US and access to a beautiful offshore cay once you are at the resort. There are seven outdoor pools, some of which can be accessed directly from guest rooms, and three white-sand beaches the Bahamas is famous for.
Sandals Resorts proudly claim to offer more quality inclusions than any other all-inclusive resorts on the planet. All of your food and drinks are included, and that doesn’t exclude premium liquor. So are golf, motorized water sports, and even daily scuba diving.

What to Do
Most of the fun at the Sandals Royal Bahamian takes place in the water and under the sun. Seven pools and calm shores mean there’s always a spot to lounge with a drink. But that’s not all – off the coast, the Barefoot Cay private island is home to another pool, restaurant, and relaxation space exclusive to Sandals guests and accessible by shuttle boat.
One of the things that sets this resort apart is the fact that scuba diving is free and included for PADI-certified divers. As beautiful as the waters of the Bahamas are from above, the view is even better from below, with wildlife and shipwrecks to be discovered.
You can also use resort equipment to glide across the surface – kayaks, paddleboards, Hobie cats, water trikes, and more are all included. On land, there’s tennis, shuffleboard, croquet, and volleyball, to name a few things.
Indoors, the Red Lane Spa is the place to be, with yoga, pilates, wellness areas, and massage treatments. Every evening, the entertainment continues with live entertainment and theme nights all week long.
What to Eat & Drink
Sandal Royal Bahamian has ten restaurants, two food trucks, and eight bars that rarely disappoint. The toughest part is deciding which ones to enjoy.
Breakfast buffets are served at Kanoo and Tesoro, while à-la-carte dishes can be ordered every morning at La Plume. Kanoo is also a lunch option, with à-la-carte Pan-Caribbean cuisine in a casual atmosphere.
The Calico Café is your poolside lunch option with simple but tasty burgers and salads. Tesoro puts away the buffet and serves traditional Italian treats à-la-carte style, too. If you decide to spend the day on Barefoot Cay offshore, Aralia House is a place to enjoy classic Caribbean seafood without having to take the boat back to the resort.
At dinner time, Tesoro continues serving its excellent menu of pizzas and pastas. Butch’s Island Chop House, the resort’s premier spot for steak and seafood, opens its doors as well. La Plume is one of the most popular options for its elegant French cuisine. There’s not one, but two Japanese restaurants – Kimonos serving teppanyaki, and Soy serving sushi.
We haven’t covered all of the food options – you’ll just have to explore the resort to find them all.
Room Guide
There are a whopping 33 categories of rooms at the Sandals Royal Bahamian. There are three “villages” where your room may be located, which determines a lot – we’ll break them down below with the basics that you need to know.
East Bay Village: This is where some of the most affordable rooms in the resort are located, such as Premium and Zen Garden, but that doesn’t mean there’s no luxury here along with them. Suites, club-level, poolside walk-out, and swim-up rooms can be booked here as well. No matter what, you can expect modern amenities and a high level of comfort in the East Bay Village.
West Bay Village: Across the resort, this building hosts only junior suites and standard suites, some coming with club lounge access and butler service. You can expect more space from these rooms and more swim-up rooms, as well as soaking tubs on certain rooms’ terraces.
Island Village: These rooms are located in the gardens behind the main building, but that doesn’t mean you should think any less of them. You can expect a high level of privacy and exclusivity in this part of the resort, and many rooms have private plunge pools and soaking tubs.
Special Experiences
Sandals Royal Bahamian is an adults-only, couples-only resort, meaning it’s made to be a special experience with your special someone.
One of the most romantic additions to your trip is a private candlelight dinner under the stars. This can be set up on the terrace of your villa, in a charming gazebo on a pier, or on one of the white-sand beaches of the resort, and comes with a custom-made menu and a personal white-gloved waiter. There’s no more romantic way to dine.
You could also spend a day away from the resort to see more of the Bahamas’ famous scenery. Take a cruise to Eleuthera Pink Sand Beach, where a famous colony of pigs lives happily on the beach, waiting for visitors. Or take to the streets on an ATV tour around Nassau to see important historical sites and everyday life for locals in the Bahamas.
Don’t forget that the resort has an award-winning spa with plenty of treatment options, including many designed for couples.
